About Us

ABOUT KYTN

KYTN is a Non-Profit Organization established by a coalition of 5 local civil societies in Katsina State in 2015 in order to foster unity among youths and to transform and inculcate positive mindset and sense of responsibility in youths. The membership of the Organisation cuts across all the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
The Organisation has its Office with its address located at Room No. 223, 2nd Floor, Federal Secretariat Complex, Kano Road, Katsina, Nigeria.

OUR MISSION

Making sure rights and privileges of youths are safeguarded and gender-specific language in all youth matters are eliminated thereby making for economically and democratically strong youth sector.

OUR VISION

KYTN envisages a sustainable society where youths are democratically, economically, culturally and environmentally conscious and transformed.

OUR PROJECTS

MINI-MUSEUMS PROJECT

Since 2021 KYTN has been engaged in establishment of Mini-museums in Secondary Schools in collaboration with International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) with the intent to promote the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage and inculcate cultural consciousness in youths.

HERITAGE SITES CONSERVATION

KYTN is in the process of revamping some of the old historical sites namely Bamle and Durbi Takusheyi with a view to conserving our cultural heritage and reviving certain important cultural activities in such places.

YOUTH GREEN NETWORK

Upon recognizing the existential threats posed by climate change, KYTN comes up with an ecological project titled Youth Green Network which consists of 3 aspects i.e. Ecological Campaign, Tree Planting and Youth Garden in order to contribute to the reversal of global warming and to instill environmental values among youths.

Support for and advocacy of girl child education to ensure that they receive appropriate education and to safeguard their rights to education

Encouraging environmental protection and conservation of ecosystem thereby mitigating the impact of climate change

PEACE

Sensitizing the youth to the dangers of hate, polarization and extremism and building resilience to the rising tide of security challenges

KYTN ORGANS

THE KYTN

This is the overall management body with the President as the supreme leader.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

This organ is responsible for policymaking and representation of the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State with Speaker elected by the representatives.

LEGAL COMMITTEE

The Legal Committee mainly deals with legal matters within the organization’s scope headed by Legal Secretary.

KYTN SECRETARIAT

The Secretariat is headed by the General-Secretary which manages the collection of information and organizes the implementation of decisions.

SPORTS COUNCIL

Controls and coordinates all sporting activities of KYTN.
